I am happy to let you know that the semi permanent make up world is a very fast changing industry, which may be sound a little daunting but this really is for the best. Techniques, pigments & tools have significantly improved in last 2-3 years & I pride myself on keeping up to date on the best techniques by attending both national & international education courses regularly, so I can deliver the best possible results for you!

There are many techniques or combination of techniques that we can use depending on the look you want to achieve; PhiBrows & BoldBrows use a tool to create hairstoke pattern (microblading) in the upper layer of the epidermis (not suitable for oily/sensitive/mature skin). PowderBrows use a shading technique to gently disperse pigment into the skin (suitable for all skin types). Machine/nano strokes create hairstrokes on the skin using a machine (suitable for all skin types but not all hair types).

Most clients will require 2 sessions 6 weeks apart. However some clients will require additional sessions at an additional cost. This is outside the artists control & determined by;

~ skin type
~ adherence to aftercare
~ exposure to different external factors

Brow Treatment | Before & Aftercare

Please Read Carefully

Your Pre Care is an important step in achieveing the desired healed results. As we are working with living tissue, ensuring the skin is in optimum condition is vital for optimal results. Please ensure you fully read the below and agree to follow these steps.

  1. Please ensure any tinting / waxing or threading is carried out 7 days prior to your appointment. Do not have the brows laminated a minimum of 6 weeks prior to procedure.
  2. Please ensure you drink plenty of water in the weeks leading up to your appointment, hydration is key for skin healing.
  3. 1-2 weeks before your treatment, start gently exfoliating any dead skin cells and moisturise the area twice a day.
  4. Retinol/Vitamin A to be avoided around the brow area for 4 weeks before procedure.
  5. Ensure you use a board spectrum SPF daily.
  6. Botox/filler treatments must be carried out minimum of 2 weeks either side of procedure for regular botox clients, 4 weeks for new botox clients.
  7. It is a good idea to have your hair freshly washed the night before or morning of your procedure, It makes your life easier during the aftercare process.
  1. You must be in good health and not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  2. Any medical conditions should have been discussed at the time of your booking.
  3. Please eat before your treatment as first time appointment can be up to 3hrs.
  4. Please arrive on time, the best place for parking is Bride Street Church carpark, (1 minute walk) I am in the building with grey door & 2 granite pillars, please use door buzzer.
  5. Avoid caffeine/alcohol, taking ibuprofen, aspirin (unless medically advised) the night before & morning of your procedure.

Please Read Carefully

  1. Aftercare is key to the healing of your permanent makeup and must be strictly followed. If you pick at them you will lose colour and will require additional sessions at an additional cost (Yes I can tell!)
  2. You may notice whiteness or blanching around the area immediately afterwards, this is normal and will subside within a few hours.
  3. You may experience some puffiness around the area, this is normal and should subside within 24/48 hrs.
  4. Avoid excessive water exposure on the brows during the healing process while showering/face washing.
  5. Remember your colour will be darker and more prominent for 5-7 days on average.
  6. Avoid any sauna/swimming/heavy exercise & sun exposure until the area has completely healed. (Usually 7~10 days ).
  7. Avoid any makeup around the area until fully healed.
  8. Once healed, the area should be protected daily with a broad spectrum SPF30.
  9. It is vital that you keep the area clean and free from any makeup / products during the healing phase to prevent infection.

After the first 6 hours, gently wipe the area clean with a damp cotton round or gauze. Pat dry and apply a small layer of your MicroBalm (half a pea size does both brows) with a clean cotton bud. Repeat both 2-3 times a day until the area has fully healed.

Do not pick or pull at the area.

As soon as your procedure is finished your skin will prepare to heal. The skin will begin to close and in a few days you may notice a thin crust – this will protect the area whilst the top layers of the skin fully heals. Around day 4-5 this will start to flake away revealing the pigment. You may intially see a lighter hue of implanted colour. This will change and settle over the next 4-6 weeks. In rare cases a true healed colour can not be seen for up to 3 months.

For new clients THIS IS A TWO STAGE PROCEDURE. Your second visit should follow within 6-12 weeks. In rare cases, clients may require additional sessions for desired results. Top ups / Colour boosts are recommended between 18/24 months, if you are unsure if you require a colour boost, kindly email clear, make up and filter free photos to [email protected].
