Lips with Janet Gilbert

Lip Micropigmentation also referred to Lip Blush or Lip Tint Tattoo. This is a form of permanent make up where we deposit pigment into the lips. The popularity of this procedure has skyrocketed in recent years & many clients now opt for this procedure to improve their pout. Long gone is the obvious blue toned Lip liner from the 90s , as advances in technology & technique mean that we can create super natural results that suit any shape.

Benefits of lip blush

  • Restores pigment
  • Due to ageing or lip filler, we can lose our natural lip pigment over time.
  • Lip Blush helps restore pigment and creates subtle hints of colour,  bringing warmth back to the lips.
  • Adds definition & illusion of volume
  • Lip Blush is a fantastic procedure for adding definition to the cupid’s bow and vermillion border , giving the illusion of a fuller, youthful lip.
  • Corrects asymmetry
  • Lip Blush can help to correct subtle asymmetrical lips
  • Lip Blush is great for correcting cool toned or hyperpigmentation in the lips
  • Adds hint of colour: Immediately after the procedure the chosen colour can appear more intense,  however results heal up to 70% lighter,  leaving a subtle hint of colour & a ‘Lip stain’ effect .

Can I have lip blush if I have lip filler ?

Absolutely! Lip Blush works extremely well on Clients with filler and can further enhance the lips with beautiful results. Clients with lip filler can experience loss of natural pigment, definition loss and develop a cool toned lips. Lip blush can be super effective in restoring the lost pigment and warming up the lips to a more healthy, youthful appearance.

If you wish to have lip filler procedure I would recommend having it first and you would need to wait 6 weeks minimum after filler procedure before having lip blush.

Can I have Lip Blush instead of lip filler?

Of course! In fact, many clients are opting for lip blush treatments instead of lip fillers to create the illusion of fuller, healthy lips without injections. Lip Blush can provide a more natural enhancement for those who wish to have subtle, understated results.

Are there different colours to choose from?

Yes, with lip blush procedures there are many factors taken into consideration when choosing the perfect colour. We spend time picking the perfect colour for you, however it is helpful if you have a favourite lipgloss or a couple of images of colours that you might like.

Please Read Carefully

Your Pre Care is an important step in achieving the desired healed results. As we are working with living tissue, ensuring the skin is in optimum condition is vital to our results. Please ensure you fully read the below and agree to follow these steps.

Prior to your appointment:

1. Start using a gentle lip scrub daily 1-2 weeks prior to your appointment.
2. Keep the lips moisturised and hydrated every day with a good lip balm (avoid vaseline).
3. Drink plenty of water in the 1-2 weeks prior to your appointment to ensure the body is hydrated.
4. Please avoid any retinols around the area for a minimum of 8 weeks.
5. Lip filler: minimum of 6 weeks after lip filler treatment

If you are prone to cold sores or have ever suffered with a cold sore it is likely you will have an outbreak. We strongly recommend taking anti-viral medication 5 days before and 5 days after your treatment. This will be discussed with you prior to your appointment.

4. Please arrive on time, the best place for parking is Bride street church carpark, (1 minute walk) I am in the building with the grey door & 2 granite pillars, please use door buzzer.
5. Avoid caffeine/alcohol , taking ibuprofen, aspirin (unless medically advised)the night before & morning of procedure.

Please Read Carefully

1.Aftercare is key to the healing of your permanent makeup and must be strictly followed. If you pick at them you will loose colour and will require additional sessions at an additional cost (yes I can tell!)
2. You may notice whiteness or blanching around the area, this is normal and will subside within a few hours.
3. You may experience puffiness/swelling, this is normal and should subside within 24/48 hrs. Lips with lip filler will swell more than lips with no lip filler.
4. In rare cases there may be slight bruising. This should last no longer than 1 week.
5. Remember your colour will be brighter and more saturated/prominent for 5-7 days on average.
6. Avoid any sauna/swimming/heavy exercise & sun exposure until the area has completely healed.
7. Once healed, the area should be protected daily with a good SPF.
8. Its vital that you keep the area clean and free from any makeup / products during the healing phase to prevent infection.

1. Clean the area at least 2-3 times per day using damp cotton /gauze starting 1 hour post treatment.
2. You can apply MicoBalm immediately post procedure and throughout the day as needed using a clean cotton bud.
3. Continue to clean ×2 daily with damp gauze/cotton round. Use MicoBalm ×2/3 daily.. Apply before eating and drinking. Avoid any makeup around the area until fully healed.

Do not pick or pull at the area – It can result in an infection or pigment loss.

As soon as your procedure is finished your skin will prepare to heal. The skin will begin close and in a few days you may notice a thin crust – this will protect the area whilst the top layers of the skin fully heals. Around day 4-5 this will start to flake away revealing the pigment. You may intially see a lighter hue of implanted colour. This will change and settle over the next 4-6 weeks. In rare cases a true healed colour can not be seen for up to 3 months.

For new clients, THIS IS A TWO STAGE PROCEDURE. Your second visit should follow within 6-12 weeks. In rare cases, clients may require additional sessions for desired results. Colour boots will vary from person to person, usually around 24 months, if you are unsure if you require a top up/colour boost, kindly email clear make up/filter free photos to [email protected]
